Field Staff

Welcome to the TrophyPursuit Field Staff Page. The Field Staff at TrophyPursuit.com will share pictures and articles periodically, but the majority of their contributions will be videos from their season.  These videos will be brought to you, the viewer, in a semi-live format, and will be ‘real,’ including all aspects that come from a hunt.  Season prep, close calls, misses, and kills will be all part of their story.

Geoff Everly

Geoff Everly, who resides in central Iowa, was fortunate to grow up in an area with thousands of acres of public land, and had a family who loved the outdoors.  From a young age Geoff’s life revolved around spending time in the outdoors with his family and friends.  Geoff, who originally began hunting for small game, slowly became more interested in pursuing whitetail deer.  In 2003 Geoff and TrophyPursuit.com founder, Chris Dunkin, started bow hunting whitetails together, and have not looked back since.  Geoff, who has numerous P&Y whitetails to his name, believes that killing big deer consistently starts long before the season begins by scouting and understanding that he can always learn something new when chasing mature whitetails. If Geoff  isn’t in front of the camera, you can bet that he’ll be behind the camera as he’s a great videographer, and likely, the best on the TP staff.

Kenny “Mayhem” Hucks

Kenny “Mayhem” Hucks was born and raised in southeast Iowa and, and as with many, his love for hunting, the water, and the woods started as a family affair.  Kenny, along with his brothers, have been roaming the woods of SE and south central Iowa for over 20 years.   Early interests started with small game, but quickly expanded to the pursuit of larger game.  Having gun hunted monarchs of SE Iowa, Kenny has now began a new challenge in harvesting a trophy with a stick and string.  Although Kenny enjoys chasing whitetails, his true passion is hunting the ever challenging wild turkey.  Being one of the founding members of T3 ( Team Tactical Thunderchicken ), he has been exploring and researching different methods of harvesting elusive southern Iowa toms.  Kenny’s never forgets that a successful hunt is not only about the harvest of a trophy, but the time spent in the woods either alone enjoying the peace, or the fun of sharing the experience with family and friends.  “Always work hard….but play harder.”

In the off season, you can find Alex at 3D shoots or at the local archery range sharpening her skills for that chance encounter when that once in lifetime opportunity arises.   Alex is excited to continue to capture her hunts on film, and is looking forward to bringing them to you as her season progresses.

Ty Dunkin

Born and raised out of South Central Iowa, Ty Dunkin, Chris’ cousin, acquired a love for the outdoors at a young age. Whether it was spending time sharing stories with family around a camp fire, watching a bass strike a top-water fishing lure, or roaming the woods trying to bag a Ruttin’ Buck or a Struttin’ Tom, Ty has always been a very active outdoorsman. At age 11 Ty put down a young button-buck to claim his first bow kill just behind his house in Marion County, and from then on he was hooked chasing Iowa Whitetails. The following spring he was fortunate enough to bag his first Wild Turkey with help from Cousin Chris Dunkin, and close family friend Geoff Everly. Throughout the past 8 years Ty has become a more avid hunter and even has a Pope and Young class Whitetail to brag about. Not only does Ty hunt, he also spends a lot of time behind the camera capturing exhilarating shots and preserving many amazing memories. Ty is looking forward to being in front of, and behind the camera with good friends and family for many years to come.

Cody Bonner

Cody Bonner was born and raised in North Branch, Michigan.  An all-around outdoor enthusiast, Cody has moved to Iowa where he makes his living managing properties in big buck country.  Being from Michigan, Cody feels truly blessed to have the opportunity to hunt some of the properties that he now does in Iowa.  He realizes that you can’t kill big deer if they aren’t there, and feels that preparing for the hunt before the season even begins is key to killing big deer on a consistent basis.  Cody not only loves hunting whitetails, but also travels out of state each year chasing turkeys and other game species.
