TP.com Turkey Hunting- 2012 Highlights & 2013 Plans
Where does the time go? It’s hard to believe that another turkey season is nearly upon us, and we’re more than excited to bring our season to you. We aren’t sure exactly how we are going to do it yet (whether there will be a show schedule or not), but we do know that we will bring our hunts to you in as nearly of a semi-live format as possible. At the longest, a particular hunt may be a week old, but more than likely will be more ‘fresh’ than that. We will hunt’em, kill’em, and show you the footage as soon as possible.
Before I dive into my plans for this year, I wanted to bring you some footage from our 2012 turkey season in the quick highlight video below;
My 2013 Plans:
March 25th- Nebraska: It’s hard to believe, but turkey season will kick off in exactly one month for some of us here at TrophyPursuit.com. Nebraska’s archery season begins on March 25th, and we’re ready to get after it. Cody Wright, Derek Wilkerson, Cody Bonner, and myself plan on heading to Nebraska sometime during the first week that the season is open, and hope to each fill at least one tag plus more. The area we are hunting is known for having a plentiful amount of Merriams, which should make for some exciting hunting and good filming.
April 6th- Iowa Youth Season: Each year, I take out at least one youth hunter and introduce him to the sport of turkey hunting. This year, we’ve teamed up with Vital Ministries’ Vital Outdoorsmen, who is hosting a banquet on March 23rd. At the banquet, there will be a silent auction in which TrophyPursuit.com has donated a guided youth turkey hunt, which will be filmed and put on TrophyPursuit.com for followers to watch. This should be a win win for all who are involved.
Mid-April into May- Iowa (Archery and Gun): Our staff will be out in full-force with bow and gun, hunting turkeys with a variety of different styles. I firmly believe that you will enjoy the wide range of turkey hunting tactics that we will bring to you this spring.
May 3rd- Kansas: Many members of the TP.com staff will head to Kansas to chase after Rio’s. We will be staying and hunting with Mark Uhlik who is the owner of Uhlik Hunting, and has more than enough birds for us to chase.
Well, that’s that. Hopefully you enjoyed the highlight video above, and if so, check back in this upcoming season. It’s only going to keep on getting better……
